WOOOOOOO!~!!! I be dancin, dancin, dancin!!!!

TJ is officially finished with Naval Nuclear Power Training!!! We got his test scores back tonight and he passed! Hooray!!!

This time next week, don't hate me when I'm laying on the beach in Grand Cayman, sipping margaritas and missing my dog Lilly. And since TJ passed the exam, he'll be right there, too ;)

I feel as though I have accomplished a lot this weekend. I have cleaned the heck out of our apartment, thrown lots of stuff away, cleaned the heck out of our apartment, started a sack for Goodwill, and the big one: RAN around NNPTC with TJ for 25 minutes.

Me running for 25 mins is quite a feat.

Now, if only I'd started this about a month or two ago, maybe my ever growing backside would look a little smaller for our upcoming vacation. *argh*

You can't win em all, I guess.

In other news, I had dinner tonight with Maggie, who is also suffering from Power School burnout (IE: her bf is studying night and day for the exam on Tuesday). It was nice to get outta the house for awhile, but I think I talked her leg off. She was probably glad to go home! yipes!

While visiting my mom last weekend, we somehow got onto the subject of the Junior Miss program. She told me that there would be no more Junior Miss...that the program was shutting down nationwide. I was appalled, and argued with her that she HAD to be wrong. "Junior Miss is awesome, I just can't see how they would stop doing such a great program," I claimed. She told me that due to lack of funding they had to close the program.

I was sure she was wrong. But I had let the topic slip my mind.

Just a moment ago as I was cleaning, I found something that led me to look up information regarding Junior Miss. Unfortunately, my mom was right: America's Junior Miss Press Release.

This I suppose dissappointed is an appropriate word to sum up how I feel about this. Junior Miss--more than a beauty pageant--was an incredible experience for me. It helped me, during a difficult time, to find confidence, friendship, and strength in myself. It was fun, but also hard work--and it paid off. I earned nearly $1500 in cash scholarships by placing 2nd, and winning Interview and Fitness preliminaries.

My own Junior Miss experience will always be a wonderful memory for me, and I'm sure many other young women feel the same way. Hopefully, despite its no longer being a national program, Junior Miss will continue on in some shape or form. It'd be a shame to let something like this just die out completely.

Lisa tagged me! Woo!! So now, I have to share 5 traits with you...

1) I could buy every piece of clothing in the mall and still want more!

2) The snooze button is my best friend (even tho I gripe about TJ's "snooz" habits!)

3) I get my feelings hurt easily *shhhhh!!*

4) I can be really naive sometimes...yet totally skeptical other times! :P

5) I love getting unexpected things...mail, phone calls, flowers, email, text msgs, etc :-)

Wee!! Now, I tag Nichole, Missy, and EmilyKate.

TAG!! You're it girls!!! :P (now to go email em)

I haven’t updated in quite

I haven’t updated in quite some time. Besides being out of town and otherwise busy with work, I just really haven’t felt as though I’ve had anything noteworthy to say.

Got back into town last night after spending a few days visiting my parents. My family, of course, loved my Lilly. She’s so cute though, how could anyone not love her? I wondered how she and my mom’s dog, Beejer, would get along. At first, they didn’t show much interest in one another…and granted, they never played together or anything, but they tolerated one another. I cannot get over how different BJ looks. For one thing, he has gained about ten pounds since I last saw him, and he only has one tooth left, so his nose/mouth area looks really pointy (reminds me of Gonzo from the Muppets). Poor doggie. I couldn’t get the two of them to sit by one another to get a cute doggie picture! :(

So anyway…seeing Weston for the first time in months was definitely a bright spot for me. He has some cute little Chuck Taylors and is (finally) using the potty. He gave me a “superhero popsicle” (I had Hulk, he had Spiderman), loved on Lilly, and kept telling me about when he “was a little bitty baby.” Such a silly. I love that kid and miss him soooo much. Don’t know when I’ll get to see him again.

I’ve had a lot of “touchy” subjects on my mind lately that I’ve wanted to put on my blog but am almost scared to do so. I don’t want to be ostracized for trying to sort thru what I’ve been thinking about…so I’ll continue thinking, and maybe one day soon I’ll type em up.

Promise to post some pictures soon :)

ETA: Posted a pic of Nichole and I in Myrtle last weekend. We got rained on, and Nichole had been swimming, so neither of us are lookin' our best :p

My camera arrived yesterday! Yippeee!!! The FedEx man clearly thought I was a nutcase! I'm guessing people don't usually get so excited when he brings them goodies! :P

So obviously, I'm not a pro at using this bad boy. In fact, I know basically nothing! I am pretty sure I need to take a trip to Barnes & Noble or head over to amazon.com! I've been reading a bit on this site, but clearly need to read a LOT more. Lisa assures me I just need to get the 50mm f/1.8 lens and then all will be well :P Once I get a shot that looks halfway decent, I will be posting it for all to see!

On Sunday, I took a little trip up to Myrtle Beach and hung out with Nichole for a couple hours. What a complete sweetie! Not only is she just adorable, but it was like we'd just been friends forever! Definitely wish we didn't live so incredibly far away...but I definitely feel like that about many of my friends. So maybe what I really wish was that I was rich and had plenty of time...then I could travel around to see people all the time :)

In other news, I seriously have a bug bite the size of a penny on my hip right now. Its about to drive me nuts. So much for playing outside with the dog!

Sometimes...you have a bad day.

Some bad days get progressively worse.

Today was one of those days for me *sigh*
I promise, I am really not an asshole.

I'm soooo ready for vacation.

The apartment across the hall

The apartment across the hall from us has been vacant for approximately 2 months now. Yesterday, new people moved in.

It took about 5 minutes. I was irate.

Clearly, these people were absent the day of the presentation, "Making a Good First Impression." Or perhaps they just didn't get the memo reading, "blaring rap music so loudly that people across the hall can make out the words is typically not the best choice of introduction."

Already, I have a bitter taste in my mouth. I do not feel warm & fuzzy about the apartment complex in which we live. I do not feel warm & fuzzy about the area we live in, nor the newbie's across the hall. *sigh* Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do at this point. Perhaps I am being judgmental, but I just don't like it so far.

I will be having orders/items delivered to me at work in the future.

In other news, I left Lilly uncrated while I was at work yesterday. I've left her uncrated before, but never for more than a couple hours at a time. *sigh* She had to stay in her crate again today, thanks to the exceptionally large present she left for me right smack in the middle of my bathroom rug. Argh. Its a good thing I love her a lot :)

Thank goodness it is Friday!
