Part of me loves my husband for buying Double Stuf Oreos today. So sweet.

The part of me that wants to be a skinny bitch? Hates him for it. Obviously he wants me to be fat and unattractive to all the other men of the world. Damn him.

Happy Thanksgiving!

So I'm a little late here peeps but I wanted to say
Happy Thanksgiving
to each and every one of you! I appreciate you guys, my bloggies, for stopping by, reading, commenting, and sharing in my sometimes boring and ho-hum day to day adventures! :)

Have you guys finished up with your Thanksgiving celebrations? I have one more to go, this evening. However, luckily I've only had one Thanksgiving meal thus far, so I'm not too stuffed to the brim. Right now I'm making a pumpkin roll for this evening. Sound gross? It isn't! I hate HATE pumpkin pie, but love this (must be the cream cheese & obscene amounts of sugar). Thought I'd share the recipe w/ou because it is actually easy up to the very end...hehe. This recipe is from the Courtyard Marriott. I probably shouldn't have this...buuuut I do :)

Pumpkin Roll

3 eggs
1 c. sugar
2/3 c. pumpkin (Libby's from a can works great haha)
1 tsp lemon juice
3/4 c. flour (all purpose)
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Chopped walnuts (optional)
(Filling Ingredients Below)
6 oz. cream cheese
1 c. confectionery sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix together the "cake" (non-filling) ingredients. Line a greased cookie sheet with wax paper (make sure your cookie sheet has edges, like a jelly roll pan). Pour the mixture onto the waxed cookie sheet. Sprinkle the top with chopped walnuts and bake at 375* for 10 minutes or until spongy. Be sure to stick a toothpick in the middle to be sure it has cooked all the way through. Flip the cake/pan WHILE HOT onto a powdered sugar dish/tea towel and peel off the wax paper. Roll the cake in the towel and allow to cool. When cool, unroll and spread the filling mixture all over the cake. Roll back up (not in towel), and refrigerate or freeze.

To make the filling, simply mix together all the ingredients. It is best to use room temp. butter and to allow the cream cheese to soften. It calls for 6 oz of cream cheese but is totally okay to use the entire 8 oz package...it just adds some calories and makes it a little more difficult to roll up :)

Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday if you ventured out! :)

Saturday Shopping...

What a day, people! As the holiday season quickly approaches, I was reminded just WHY I love to shop online. First I needed to return something to Target, which I'd originally purchased from their website. To start with, I was annoyed by the time I got to the counter. There was an elderly lady arguing with them over a canister of "peanuts and poppycock" (I can't make this up), as well as a very effeminate 16-year-old employee who told a very large and in charge gentleman to "lower his volume, Sir." So anyway, because I didn't have "the receipt" (what receipt?! I brought the invoice from the box!), the girl could only give me $13.98, but I was owed like $26. "It's for your protection," the counter lady said. Annoyed...omg. Later my husband told me he almost said "I'll give you the difference, just take the $$ so we can get the h*** out of here." Apparently he was equally annoyed haha. I hate to dog on Target because they're one of my favs, but seriously...

My other shopping adventure was MUCH better! I went to Sephora, because I needed to be matched for foundation. I have oily skin and I've been using Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear for about the past 2 months. It is supposed to be for oily skin and help keep shine at bay, but for the last month or so my skin has looked awful. I've been breaking out really bad...painful bumps on my cheeks. I've taken Accutane twice so this crap is really disheartening. Aside from the bumps, the Lancome is not for me because the color is all wrong. I really like the website "MakeupAlley," and between their reviews and Sephora's I decided to try Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation. Lexington ladies, if you go to Sephora ask for Elaina! She was so nice, helpful, and awesome!! She gave me a color match, explained their return policy, listened carefully as I told her my issues, and was just great. She also gave me a sample of Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer, as well as a sample of the Brazilian Peel. She was the best Sephora associate with whom I've ever dealt, simply because she listened, asked questions, explained everything, and didn't push a ton of product on me. I will definitely ask for her when I go back! I'm really hoping these products work out for me and my skin starts to improve. I don't know what is going on but it is way depressing. Though I'm sure if I didn't eat such crap, I'd probably see some improvement there too. If I like the primer, I'll be doing like PinkLouLou and scoping it out on eBay. Anyway, that's all for now :)

PS--While I was in Sephora, I looked up Lauren's blog (Bluegrass Love) to find the name of the "greige" polish. What did we do before smartphones?!?!

Another eBay goodie!

NWT Jessica Simpson "Element" Shopper Tote

This purse is brand new and has been in my closet for...months. I let too much time elapse and therefore could not return it. It is new with tags, no flaws, etc. I will ship for free or, even better, hand deliver if you're here in town! :)

Thankful Thursday

Lauren posted something today, "Thankful Thursday," and I thought I'd do the same....just a real quick post before I hit the hay.

1. I'm thankful the election is over. No more political ads. YAY!!

2. Groupon. It recently "came to" Lexington and I'm loving it! I have the app on my iPhone and I enjoy checking it daily for a good deal. So far I've only purchased one :)

3. Having a job. I moved back to Lexington last August (09), and by October I was employed. I feel really blessed and fortunate to have my job, despite sometimes complaining about it. I've met many wonderful people through my job too, an added bonus :)

4. My friends and family. Not much else needs to be said here :)

5. Life. This is something I don't think about much or like to talk about often, but it hit me this afternoon. On this very Thursday 10 years ago...I was fighting for my life after a car accident. I am lucky--no, blessed--to be alive. By all medical accounts I shouldn't be here, but for whatever reason, God spared me. And for that, I owe Him many, many thanks.

Goodies For Sale

Hey ladies....I'm sure some of you can relate to this! Find something great in the store, or online, or that you have a coupon for and just cannot pass up because it is TOO great of a deal...then it hangs in your closet forever, unloved. Well, I have a couple of those items. I've been listing things on eBay tonight and thought I'd share them here. I'll be adding some other things this week (new with tag items) so I'll keep you posted.

(I didn't realize this was a petite when I ordered it online...feels like it is strangling my armpits!)

EUC J.Crew Mini Patent Campo Handbag in Black Plum (as shown)
(EUC=Excellent Used Condition)

On another note...can you believe it is only 54 days till Christmas?! Gotta make room in the closet, bahahaha :)
