Online Shopping and Ellipticizing

Hi ladies! Sorry for my recent once-a-week-blogging phase I've been going through. I don't know what my problem is...but I've been in a bit of a funk, to be honest with you. I can't really say any one thing that's wrong...depression is something I fight on an ongoing basis (thank you, bad genes) but for some reason I've had "the blues" lately. Anyway, hopefully I'm pushing through...

I did a little self-medicating this weekend in the form of online shopping. Good for the soul, bad for the wallet. Some of the damage was from Sephora...

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Liner in Zero
I really like this because it doesn't give me raccoon eyes nearly as bad as some other products. It is a little pricey so I only use it on my lower lash and use my fav Cover Girl Perfect Point on top.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
I may regret this, but I hope not. I've been using Too Faced Primed & Poreless since before Christmas, but I don't feel like it keeps the oilies away as well as I'd like. I thought I'd give this a try....and if it's a bomb, well...Sephora has a return policy.
Christian Dior "DiorShow" Mascara
This mascara constantly gets rave reviews. I'd wanted to try it but hadn't wanted to spend the money. Enter gift card burning a hole in my pocket....
Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation
I pink-puffy-heart this foundation. I've been using it since before Thanksgiving and am on the verge of running out (at least I think--it's hard to tell since the bottle is opaque). I know I promised a review video of this, and I haven't forgotten....but seriously, I love it. If you need coverage, this is great. I use color #20 (Ivory) but could probably also get by with #30 (Porcelain).

I also used a coupon code (and another gift certificate) for some pants at Banana Republic, plus a couple items from Old Navy...

Yesterday, girls, I spent most of my day watching MTV's "I Used to Be Fat." I don't know what it is about that show but it sucked me in. I literally watched it for hours. I think it motivated me or something...because instead of a large coffee today, I got a medium. Then I promptly fell off the wagon for lunch, and dinner (panera mac & cheese anyone? yum). BUT....I did do 35 minutes on the elliptical tonight. Gotta start somewhere. I weigh 133, and I'm not necessarily unhappy with my weight number-wise (though I would not mind one bit for it to be lower)...but I'm unhappy with what I see in the mirror. So it's time to stop being lazy and do something about it! I've got myself one of those little notepads to carry in my purse and start writing down everything I put in my mouth....so we shall see what happens ladies. We shall see.

Ice Skating with a Future Heartbreaker

Hey all! Despite my lack of posting, I have not been kidnapped or anything...sorry. This past week has been crazy--the earliest I got home from work was 7pm...one day I was at work till 8:30, and got Panera on the way home...thought I was gonna have to smack the girl in the drive-thru...yeah. Fun stuff! Anyway...

Last weekend, my cousin's little girl came to spend the night! After she played Angry Birds on my phone till extremely late at night...she was a little grumpy. We were supposed to go get our nails painted, but she said "I want to just paint nails here!" So I let her get out all my nail polish and pick a color...except she picked ten. She wanted to use a different color on each of my nails!!!! Um...no little lady, we aren't doing that! I made her pick one (she chose HOT HOT PINK) and this is what my manicure looked like when she was finished....

She also gave me a lil pedi with OPI Cajun Shrimp (or as she called it, ORANGE!)...but we're not going to show that here on the blog, hahaha.

Finally, we went ice skating, which is what she had been looking forward to all week! She had never been ice skating before and told me she wanted to go. If you're my facebook friend...you've already seen these pics, but she's a doll so you can stand to see em again, right?

Don't judge me based on her hair, ok? Despite conditioning and biosilk-serum-ing, she was still crying that I was pulling her hair. So I just let it air dry! Also, she does not have gargantuan hands, but it's hard finding gloves for little kids!

Once we got out on the ice...things didn't go so well. I don't know what I had expected, but I'm certain that her being tired and grumpy did not help! She told me she was scared, so we got her one of these helpers for kids (though I saw an adult or two using one haha).

Normally a ham, she didn't even want to have her picture taken!

Look at the little ruffles on her jeans! How adorable??!!! This was just moments before she had a meltdown...so, all in all, we went ice skating for one hour. And to tell you how out of shape I am, my legs hurt the next day, ha!

She cried from the time we left the ice rink till we got to our house...which was about a ten minute drive. That was a pleasant car ride! Ack. Next we went to Panera to eat lunch, where she was on her best behavior. I think the macaroni and cheese may have had something to do with it.
I know it was taken with a flash-less iPhone, but after seeing this picture, I'm on a quest for some eye cream. Seriously. Any good recommendations? Leave them in the comments...
