Little cupcake

I know it is right after Christmas, but....I bought this on Etsy for my cousin's little baby.
They call her their "little cupcake" and I thought she needed it.

Her mommy and daddy will be so tickled!
Once they send me a picture of her wearing it (which they'd better!), I'll share it with you.

Till then, I think I'll make some cupcakes ;)

Your hair needs this....stat

In the latest earth-shattering news, I just washed my hair...but only because I went to the gym tonight and felt disgusting. It actually looked...well, sort of okay.  I probably could have gotten another day out of it.  People...I'd last washed my hair Saturday afternoon.

Now I know you might think that is gross...but whatevs. Washing my hair is a serious investment of time, so if I can do it a bit less, I'm in like flynn.

I have tried a handful of dry shampoos....
Batiste,  Blush Scent. Works well, but the scent is a little overpowering. Powdery and flowery.  Will leave your hair ashy looking if you "hover" in one area too long.  Fairly affordable too. Available at Sally's, Ulta, online, etc.

Oscar Blandi Invisible, for Brunettes or other dark haired ladies.  This works decent, but is nothing to write home about. It DOES hold up to the invisible part of it's name, which is great, but it is a little more pricey for what you get. Available at Ulta, Amazon, etc.

Tresemme. This sucks.  Ashy residue on your hair, ew. This put a bad taste in my mouth for dry shampoo, particularly when I'd been using the ol' Johnson's Baby Powder technique before and could manage the ashy look better! Available at Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.

My friend with very dark hair mentioned this in passing. After my bad luck with Tresemme, I was reluctant, but her hair is darker than mine so I reconsidered.  Well, I recently bought some of this Suave Dry Shampoo and hello, AWESOME.  This is why I had not washed my hair for so many days. This stuff WORKS, does not leave disgusting residue, and had a nice scent.  It smells like grapefruit AND gives your hair a little volume and lift. Suave is getting it figured out...

Ladies of the blog...get to Walmart (or Target, or Kroger, or Walgreens, or wherever your beauty products are sold!) with a $5-er in your pocket and pick some up for yourself!
You will not be sorry.

Your welcome.

Oh, what's that? You see a Clarisonic Mia in that picture above?  My hubby was nice enough to give me that for our anniversary! I like it, but the verdict is still out since my skin likes to act like a little bia most of the time.  Thus, I'm not ready to give it a full "review" just yet.

Hope you ladies had a fabulous Christmas!!! I had a nice Christmas with family, a nice little break from work, and a good opportunity to remember all that I am thankful for and blessed with! :)

The big D...Dallas

We celebrated our 7-year anniversary on December 11th...yay!  I can hardly believe it has been 7 years.

In early October I had purchased tickets to a Dallas Cowboys game...on December 11th.  They were to play the NY Giants.  At the time, I had no idea that this was a "good game."  I later learned that this was a HUGE game.  Anyway, I got the tickets and bought airfare...direct flight from Lexington to DFW, sweet!

I kept the secret...and kept the secret...and kept the secret some more.
I couldn't really figure out or decide how to tell him.
As it got closer, I told him we would be going somewhere on Saturday the 10th and returning on Monday the 12th.

Finally on Wednesday, I couldn't take it anymore!  I gave him the tickets!

On Saturday, I was not feeling well from the time we got off the plane.  I was starting to get a bad headache, probably because I fell asleep with my neck/head all cock-eyed whilst on the plane.  Woops.

We did a tour of the stadium...
With the "mascot"
In the Cowboys locker room
TJ on the field

Disappointed that parts of the star were cut off :(
Glad we paid for a "professional" picture in the star since the guy I handed my camera to...
...judging by the pics, might have had several Miller Lite's that day, haha :)
I went to bed at like 8:30 that night and slept through to the next morning.  I still didn't feel great and drank lots of coffee...

We rode the trolley in Dallas...I might put this in my office

Stadium lit up from a distance. It was hard to get a good picture.

Our seats were pretty high, but we could still see really well.  And anything we couldn't see....

We just watched on the enormous screen :)

All in all we had a really great trip, albeit short.  I was disappointed I did not get to see Steph, but that is my fault for feeling sickly and going to bed so early!  I'm hoping we'll go back to Dallas someday, perhaps for another game?

Although the gift was quite a bit more "elaborate" than anything I've ever done before, I think I liked this more than just buying him something.  My hubby is really hard to buy for because if he wants or needs something, a lot of times he'll just get it.  Plus, it's so close to Christmas.  Not to mention...this was an experience we got to do together and a neat memory!

5 Quick Things for an Update!

Long time no bloggy, my friends!  I have no excuses, no good reasons, and (thankfully) no sad stories to tell you about why I haven't been around.  I've been experiencing The Lazy.  My friend Chrissie will tell you The Lazy is associated with Thanksgiving, and perhaps it is, but it plagues me from time to time regardless of the season.

Thought I'd just give a quick update for you!

1. My hubby and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary this past weekend! SEVEN YEARS. Doesn't really seem like it...but then again, it certainly does!

2.  For our anniversary, we took a little trip....more on that in a future post ;) (see, that means I'll come back. I have pictures!)

3.  You might remember that before I took my trip a few months back, I mentioned an appointment I had for a wax.  I'm still a little embarassed to tell you about this, but I will say this. When those people tell you to use Tend-Skin, THEY MEAN IT.  (I may or may not have had a wax appointment recently, and may or may not have forgotten to use the Tend Skin leading up to the appointment.)

4.  I am not finished with my Christmas shopping.  I've bought just one tiny little thing for my mom, and need to buy for all the little people in my family.  I seem to get worse with this every year....argh, get it together Jillbee, get it together!

5.  I am in dire need of a pedicure.  I'm trying to reward myself with a pedicure while "tricking" myself into working out. I told myself a couple days ago that if I went to the gym 10 times by Christmas, I could get a pedi. Well. As of right now I need to go 9 more times. I'm up against a tight deadline peeps...

That's all I've got for now peeps, I promise to come back in about 3 to 5 days.  Not a whole month ;)
